I have lived and raised a family in Five Oak Green for 24 years and taught in Tunbridge Wells for many of those years. I am a Member of Association of Barnardo’s and in the past I have been their County Chair, sat on the Appeals Advisory Board, organized House-to-House Appeals and organized and supported local fundraising events. For the past six years I have been a publically elected Governor for Kent (& the elected Lead Governor for a year) for our ambulance service (SECAmb), representing patients and public members and trying to ensure we have the best and safest service possible during very turbulent times for the Trust.
Recognising that traffic within our parish is of major concern led me 4 years ago to set up a local Community Speed Watch group with a committed band of like-minded Parishioners. Capel Parish Council funded the group’s own equipment last year.
I am a member of the FOGhorns, which has organized the Capel Christmas Party for the past two years, raising money for local good causes. I am the local Healthwatch Champion for Capel Parish. If only making the teas, I have been involved with and supported the newly re-formed Capel Cricket Club from the start!
