Next time you are down at the recreation ground take a look at the new stand with two plaques adjacent to the five oak trees planted last year. The five oak trees were planted to commemorate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. – five oaks for Five Oak Green. A project, the Queen’s Canopy , was set up to encourage the planting of the trees nationwide to commemorate this special occasion. We are delighted that the fifth oak tree we planted has recovered and is catching up with the others! This year we planted a further two oak trees on the other side of the recreation ground. The two plaques give details about the planting for all to see. We are very grateful to Capel Groundcare for designing and making the stand for our two plaques. Louise (Parish Clerk)
