Road safety and speed markings etc. It appears that you have changed the speed limit recently from a 40 to a 30 zone (not very well marked in fact) and I have now been given a speeding offence driving at 36 miles per hour as a result. I am a careful driver, as evidenced by the fact it was actually in my Porsche which illustrates I was hardly seeking to speed in the first instance. Whilst I appreciate the need to control speed, this is another example of punitive actions being endorsed by local villages irrespective of the severity of the offence being committed. This makes it hard to support your better intentions of getting speed down. You are in some instances actually alienating those who are generally responsible drivers and otherwise on your side.

Sorry Alan but the Parish Council does not fix the speed limits that is done by Kent Highways. However Five Oak Green is a residential area and the safety of our residents is a top priority.
